Schedule of Activities

Period 2:
-Students will brainstorm possible careers of interest and list, in bullet format, the reasons why these careers are of interest to them. Students should have at least two-three careers listed with the possibility of more.

Period 3:
-Students will narrow down their career choices to just one. Students will then list the abilities and skills they currently have to be successful in such a career. Next, students will begin researching the skills and abilities not yet attained that they will need to be successful in this career field. Period 5:
-Students will research high schools/colleges that offer a program which meets the requirements necessary to attain a degree which will allow them to work in the career field they have chosen. Students will also need to calculate the cost of attendance (if necessary) by the minimum of four years.

Period 6:
-Students will create a one-page document, either MS Word or Smart Notebook, highlighting the career of choice, skills and abilities they possess already, skills and abilities they will need to acquire with time, college of choice and cost of attendance. Additionally, students should create a timeline for their education which highlights the time necessary to complete the above stated things so they have a general idea of when this career could become a reality for them.
